Poland, Who knew?

Happy summer in western washington!  MaMa loves the sun, makes me feel like singing from the roof tops!  I have high hopes the it may be around for a little bit.    I have been really loving that there has been so much color in the world it makes things feel like there is hope and beauty all around us.  I'm feeling optimistic  that there is going to be some new and wonderful things in the world, like being are on the brink of something  fabulous.  Well thats what I'm banking on that is.  As it stands I have discovered that I am wagging war on the most robust dandelions in the free world am I am loosing big time.  This is my life, how did I get hear?  But I do know new and fun things in the world of cosmetics and that I am good for if noting else.

Name 5 things that are rad about Poland?  Pottery, Pope John Paul whatever he was (Im not catholic don't judge), food with cabbage and iglots cosmetics.  Ok that was 4 but you give me another?  So Inglots is amazing for real.  I Love MAC, I'm a devote for sure, saying that Inglots is like the bees knees!  Its not a new brand but new to the usa and is available at the macy's.  I have heard much ado in the makeup blogs but not had the pleasure of playing.  Now that I can get my hot little hands on it I have to say I am in lust!  Its a line that feels a lot like MAC by way of variety in color and volume of product.    The cream eyeliner is so amazing I will sing it to the roof tops.  They have an great selection and works well and is sooo and worth the try.  Or at least in my humble opinion that is.

I did a quick little look so you can see a little something.  I have used a base all over shadow base of batter up from the balm.  I have then etched out a little crease with the so hot sugarpill color in 2am.  Eyeliner gel in 87, with a touch of loose pigment to set, not that i felt it was way necessary.  Have to say it stood up to me crying and stayed on!  Some sugarpill,  inTako on brow and inner corner and smashing in no time!  Try it color is fun, and makes the world more interesting.
cheers

candy girl

As i promised my last post was all about my inner dark passenger, this time its bubble gum and rainbows.  Im tapping into the sunshine of my soul.  Iv been thinking of the things that make me happy, that make life a magical journey and Iv come up with a few things.  Nothing makes me as happy as seeing the sunshine play in the hair of my little girl.  She's the most wonderful silly human iv ever known and I'm proud to be her mother.  The feel of cashmere yarn thats is so luxurious and deliciously sumptuous that i love.  New nail polish is as thrilling as new box of crayons for this silly girl. I love the sunshine on my skin and the feeling of calm after yoga.  Cleaning the bathroom till all my problems disappear is a wonderful way to get out of self. So to the happy little things in life!
Im a nail polish junkie, news this is not.  However glitter polish is a hard thing to get right for sure, Debrah Lipman knows how to do it right.  Candy shop the birthday party in a bottle is so much fun i cant help but smile while looking at my hands.  It also has some good staying power as most glitter takes no time to flake off and be nasty.  I know I need to get my nails done, but you can see how happy the color is.
Obsessive cumpulsive cosmetics, how awesome is that right?  Its a fun brand with lots of products but lip tar is the buzz.  A little dab will do ya and glides on like a gloss but dries to lip stick finish.  There are a ton of wonderful colors that are super pigmented for amazing color pay off.  I gotta say i haven't been this excited to try a new lip product like this in a while!
Life is not always fair, iv learned that lesson more then once.  What I do know is life is too short to not enjoy it while its hear.   Its ok to stick up for yourself, its not anyone else's job.  Go play in the grass, try something new and smile.  I say this more as a reminder to myself then anything.

bringing emo back

Its been a hard few weeks for this girl.  Getting back from hawaii to the real world has left me feeling blah!  I love vacation but coming back can feel like the biggest let down, and make you wonder what the hell am I doing with yourself.   Im feeling really bogged down with the question.  And wonder what I need to be doing to help myself and family be fulfilled.  Concussion?  Alas,I have yet to have make any insights on the subject.  So since im feeling about as chipper as the plauge thats my insperation, more or less.  I decided to embrasse the emo for the time being seeing as it packed its duffle bag to stay.

I love the juxttaposition of dark in the spring anyhow.  Always keep people on there toes right?  And im pretty sure vamp is like the new red for classic polish anyway.  Buff, if your a light nail girl, it has its place in my heart too. Its about tapping into the dark shadows and playing in the mist of your mind.  Bad potery, sylvia path, dirty hair and getting to the 13 year old self that wanted to be cool and was tragically un hip.  So to the one inside of you that cries, puts on black eyeliner and practices looking like robert smith this ones for you!

Dark shadow the movie I can't wait to see, cuz mama loves her some Tim Burton.   The movie has an inspired nail polish collection by orly that is pretty fantastic.  Mysterious curse is super fun and vamp, it needs to live on my fingers right now.  In fact it is, and its better then in the bottle.  Very rock and roll but a nice little depart from black.  I have paired it with a zoya green fleck decrome top coat.  Its really sofisticated glitter if your not in the know.  Also can I say that my friend Robin has a very wise theory that the reson  Johnny Deep has never played a vampire is that it is just too much sexy for the woman (and some men) of the world to handle.  I think this is a very real possibility and would like to say I love you all if this proves true.  I want my nail polish collection to go to one of those getting woman back on there feet orginization, good nails bring a feeling of power for sure.

I really like sugar pill cosmetics, there worth a try for reals.  They have just launched a hot new quad that is way good for my girly goth spring look.  They are bringing back the matte shadow and I really enjoy that. Some times when your feeling timid with color go matte and it can feel a bit moe approtabul i think.  Also a pop of a hot color like yellow on the inner corner of your eye is super chic and fun.  And sometimes I feel that shimmer shadows can lose some of the dynamic looks that you want to create but this way they stay sharp.  So check them out soon, you wont be sorry.  Unless your lame and then what ev, do what you like.

So I am hoping that I shoot this gray cloud out of the sky soon so that i can talk about my neon love right now.  Maybe i can even get inspired and make time to blog more, can you handle it?
Love and junk

I Love the power of sweat!  The clarity of mind that comes after you have worked so hard that its pouring off of you is wonderful.  I have missed this power until recently I got it back, and its nice to feel like me again.  I can't wait till the middle of the month and I get to go back to yoga!  Sweet sweet yoga, how I have missed thee most.  Getting back to who it is I want to be and shaking the dirt off your roots and all that good stuff.  Im hoping that this rejuvenated desire of momentum continues and grows.  I hate being stuck!  Its one of the feelings I hate most I think.  Not that Im supposed to pass judgment on feelings, blah blah whatever.  So with this movement i have going in my life I'm celebrating things that make me happy.  And what do I love more then nail polish?  Not a whole lot, lol!
OPI has jumped on the nail gel band wagon and about time I say.  Its so nice to have a bevy of choices at your fingertips, (I can't help a pun every now and again).  One of my all time favorites is Lincoln park after dark, its full of vampy goodness that I will always have a soft spot for.  I am well await that this is the season of light and bright, which is why I think its fun to switch up the trends.  I mean vamp is classic and chic any time of year, or thats my humble opinion at least.   I do also love a good ad campaign and this one is fun, Anna Pacquin from Tru Blood is the lincoln park girl.  There are some other really amazing classic colors to chose from so, get a manicure and enjoy cleaning you tube and not having the polish gone to hell.

Yu-Be Me-Be

I have been feeling uninspired as of late of things to blog.  I have not found anything so fun and new that I thought it was swoon worthy.  Iv been thinking a lot about the past and the path my life is on.  Some things still work, there comfort and warmth on a cold night.  While others are the really cute pair of shoes that pinch and you never wear but can't bring yourself to part with.  Cherish the things that are worth while and let the shoes that don't fit go.  Its time to think about things from the past that fit you life today and are still amazing.
Yu-Be is this awesome Japanese skin cream.  It has a mentholated smell that dissipates very quickly and works wonders.  Its a glycerin based cream so is wonderful for use in stressful weather.  This Japanese bird that climbed everest brought this stuff with her!  Thats an amazing testimonial I say.  I get chapped skin in the winter months and it always delivers stellar results.  I use it all over my body and face even, its that awesome.  Sephora has a little travel, (most the time) size in there store, otherwise online is the way to go.  Or do what I do and make it an excuse to hit Ujumias cuz I love the international district, and hum-bows make me happy.
All in all i think some good things are heading my way.  Iv gained some momentum in my life that feels good.  I can't wait till I can go back to yoga next month.  I am ready to give more of myself over to my practice and see what unfolds.  Chang is in the air, and I don't want to miss the opurtunity to make some magic.  Ps I can't post a picture, because I got a fancy new computer and can't work it, lol.

Tell me something good.................

It’s been a long six weeks give or take, full of lots of change.  I have purchased a house and I have to say for the American dream it’s a major pain in the ass!  However I am holding out that after the dust settles I’ll enjoy said pain in the ass, AKA my house.  So most of my time and energy has been tied up in house things.  Couches, rugs and light fixtures oh my!  But I’m ready for some spring to lighten up my days.
BB cream, have you heard yet?  Beauty Balm is an product that comes our way from the Far East.  It’s like the all in wonder makeup treatment product.  Until recently you had to surf eBay to get your hand on these awesome products.  That’s what I did and it’s a product every woman needs.  Men can use it too; it’s tinted so blend well!  It has sun screen, anti ageing components, moisturizers, healing agents, you name it it’s got it.  Sephora has a collection of bb cream to try, each with there own properties.  Dr. Jart is the new one I'm trying.
I love color and I think you can add a little and still keep it classy like.  My renewed fav way to do so?  Colored mascara is an awesome way to do so.  Its softer then black, fun and any age can embrace this trend.  Hard candy has some fun colors for a very good price.  YSL whom has wonderful high end mascara as a rule also has fun shades.  If you’re too scared to don a full set of bright blue lashes, just put them on the bottom.
With so many changes going on in my life I need to remember to take it all in stride, I can’t wait to finally put the litigation nightmare behind me.  Almost 5 years took away so much and while I don’t enjoy trudging, I can’t wait to take some of my power back.  Small steps instead of big leaps, or so they tell me.  But today I can say with a full heart I am grateful.  Yesterday was what would have been Johns 36th birthday.  Suki said she wanted to sing happy birthday to the stars for him, so he would hear.  I was moved more then words.  So with that, my cup is full. Snow-a-rama

I love the snow!  It’s been a long month feeling less then on my A game.  I never really got into the holiday sprit and frankly there was not a whole lot to get excited about.  I miss my uncle John and was really hoping for a new start, but alas that’s not in the cards yet.  But the snow is helping to white out some of my funk and what makes me giddy?  Frivolous cosmetics and other things I don’t need but want.  And in honor of this winter wonderland I wanted to think of all my favorite chilly products.
I have had a love affair with Hard Candy nail polish since I was 13.  I remember reading in seventeen magazine about what Celebes were hot for there awesome milky shades.  My 90’s girl I wanted to be Drew Barrymore and I have this color in common as an all time favorite, sky.  You can get Hard Candy still at Wal-Mart, but I have to say Zoya has a better polish for milky colors.
Do you know about Lime Crime?  It’s a fun line full of whimsy and fun.  On principal I love everything it stands for, and there a mostly vegan and cruelty free company!  They are not for the faint of heart, but if you’re feeling brave and want to play that’s your girl!  They have a new pallet coming out in Feb. that is going to be a must have.  It’s called China Doll and I love the vibrant matte colors.  It’s a really sophisticated way to wear color I think.
And another fun independent cosmetic company that has awesome matte shadows is Sugar pill.  I am way in love with the burning heart pallet; it’s a sunset eye in a flash.  They go on smooth and I dig when independent companies can make an awesome product and compete with the big boys.
So other then spending allot of time looking at cosmetics I have been getting in touch with the 13 year old Bristol and ordered some Manic Panic hair dye.  I used to there stuff when I was young and more impetuous.  I took a play out of my old play book and dyed my hair pink.  I kind of looking like a real life cartoon character, something’s never change I guess.
Something else to do when it’s snowing buckets?  Knit-a-poluza in the casa de Bristol.  I decided that I wanted to make a sweater and I an super freaked that I can do it but I know my knitting guru will help me on my way.  I got a great pattern book of Jane Austin inspired knits and I can’t wait to be more awesome so I can make a caplet!
So despite feeling like I can’t catch a break and feeling unfit for human companionship I'm optimistic.  I know that I have some amazing people in my life; I hope you know who you are.  And I pray for the end of my litigation nightmare so I can get a G D vacation!
Be Safe
